East Bay Youth Sports Association (formerly Walnut Creek Sports) is a year round, full service youth sports organization dedicated to the growth and development of character , sportsmanship , confidence, teamwork, ability and fun in the youth of the San Francisco East Bay area.
Our concern is the "whole" development of the person and building of successful individuals through sports.
While our programs benefit the young athlete, we also offer "family friendly" schedules and a relaxed, enjoyment of sports in a less than competitive atmosphere that offers both the player and their families the best that youth sports particitation can offer.
I am very satisfied with this league, and I am very grateful for all you do for it. I think all the other city leagues are missing the point, and I am so glad to have found this one. Marcelle is enjoying it a lot, and I have doubts whether we could have given her as positive an experience playing baseball if we had joined LMYA.
You are also giving my husband a wonderful experience he never would have sought out, both in the experience of the games and being involved, and also sharing the experience and his love of the game with his daughter.
I am SO appreciative of your efforts and this league, no matter HOW much rain!
THANK YOU!
Vicki Mcaslin

Hi Chris,
Thank you for the wonderful experience this has given our son. We'll be back next year!
Dian
I just wanted to give you some feedback as today was the first day of this league. My son is on the Colts. His Coach is amazing! Truly Gifted in every way. His first experience was so positive that he rode home smiling ear -to-ear, feeling so gleeful and looking forward to next week.
We are very appreciative, and just wanted to compliment you on your well-balanced, team-building, supportive program. We will recommend it to all of our friends.
Best,
Ben
Chris,
I want to thank you for all your time and effort. This is my sons 1st year playing and he loves it.
Thank you
David
Oh, and by the way, we have thoroughly enjoyed the season. It has been the best experience for my husband and son! A great opportunity for bonding - they looked forward to it every Sunday and my son now knows and understands football so much more! Which of course, makes Dad very happy.
Thank you for an awesome program!

This information is still being developed. Answers to some of our FAQs are here and we are adding to the information regularly.
1) Can my child play football with WCSA and still play other sports as well?
Yes, each season we have numerous multi sport players. Our schedules and game times are designed to make multiple sports easy and fun.
2) Do we have to buy the equipment?
No, all necessary equipment is provided with a $300 equipment deposit to secure its return. We do not cash this check but hold it until the end of the season or until the player becomes inactive during the season and the equipment is returned.
Note: All equipment is due to be returned no later than immediately following the last game or day of camp. If equipment is not returned on time, the deposit is forfeit and the equipment is yours. If a player becomes inactive for the season and notifies the league of his status, equipment must be returned within 10 days of the notice of inactivity. Deposits will be forfeit should a player not return equipment on a timely basis.
The player will only need to provide cleats and a mouthguard.
3) When are practices?
The first practice of the season will take place approximately 5 weeks before the first scheduled game. All preseason practices will take place on Sunday afternoons unless otherwise scheduled.
For the following 2 weeks after the first practice, players will practice and learn together as a division (Under 80lbs, 80-110lbs and Over 110 lbs) Teams are not formed until after the third practice.
Following the third practice the division coaches will draft players for their teams.
The 4th and 5th practice weeks will be teams practicing together as a team and preparing for the season. These practices will include scrimmages with other teams as well.
This schedule will will continue until first game day. Beginning the day of the first scheduled team game, there is only 1 hour of practice before each hour game. No additional practices will take place.
) My player is 11 but only weighs 60 lbs. Can he still play?
Yes, this player would be assigned to a team in the Under 80 Lb Division regardless of his age.
4) My player is only 7 years old but weighs 90 lbs. Would he be playing with older boys?
No, your player woudl be assigned to teams in the UNder 80 Division with players of comparable age. Although weight is a primary parameter for division placement, we also take into account age and physical maturity and ability when placing a player.
5) Can my son's friends play on the same team?
As long as both boys are in the same weight and age division they can play together.
Note: There are limits to numbers of team mate requests that can play on the same team. As long as teams are formed with the same average weight, age and ability full teams can be formed from requests. However, we do not allow teams to be formed with averages of undersized, oversized, older, younger or experience and ability to be formed. This results in imbalances one way or the other in parity of the league as a whole and never results in a good experience for anyone.
Up to 4 team mate requests are never a problem and balanced teams can formed around those players. Team mate requests of more than 4 players require league approval and usually require a head coach to come from the ranks of the players who request to play together.
6) Is the league Co-Ed?
Yes, we have had many girls play on teams with us and have thoroughly enjoyed what they bring to the game.
Ages 9-14
Want to be one of the greats? It all starts with fundamentals and hard work.
If you are up to the challenge and ready to take your first steps towards playing the greatest position in the world's greatest sport then register now for one of our in season quarterback clinics.
Budding superstars will take a progressive journey through the fundamentals of the QB position. Beginning with basic pass footwork and throwing mechanics, players will continue to move through their development learning about run game footwork and mechanics, timing passes, reading defenses, movement in the pocket, escaping the pocket, throwing on the run and much more.
While this program is designed to work in coordination with our Receiver Clinic, it is strongly advised that the Quarterback bring his own receiver for this program . Receivers who accompany Qbs, attend the Receiver Clinic at no cost.
This is a beginner level clinic,
Dates :
Session #1
Concord : Saturday afternoons March 3rd - March 31st, 2012.
Session #2
Concord : Saturday afternoons April 14 - May 12, 2012
Where:
Woodside Elementary 761 San Simeon in Concord
When : Exact tmes subject to minor changes
Concord : 12pm -1:30pm

.
Ages 10 - 15
Pre-requisite for this clinic: Players must satifactorily complete Beginner Quarterback or have demonstrable ability at an intermediate level based on instructor's assessment. Merely completing Beginner Quarterback is not an automatic move to Intermdiate. Many players will require additional training at the beginner level.
This is where the rubber hits the road. Athletes will use the fundamental skills aquired in Beginner Quarterback and begin utilizing and bringing together all of the concepts and skills into establishing themselves at the quarterback position.
Demands are tougher at this level but so are the rewards. Intermediate level Receiver Clinic athletes will participate in this clinic at their position BUT Quarterbacks should bring along a receiver in this clinic.
Athletes will hone their throwing skills, improve movement in the pocket, run game footwork, pitching, tossing, play progression, learn the difference between KEY READS and PROGRESSION READS, how to read a defense in cover 2, cover 3, man to man etc., How to throw against those defenses, throwing windows, throwing on the run, timing passes and much more.
When : Exact times subject to minor changes
Concord : 1:30pm - 3 pm
There is still room in each level for session #1 . You can download the mail in form and bring in this evening or register online and bring your receipt to the session.
This is an "instructional play" program and ideal for beginners and intermediate players. Players are matched according to ability and the focus of our games are teamwork, passing the ball and fundamentals of shooting etc. rather than the finer technicalities and rules such as traveling, double dribbling, etc. Our season is a success if at the end of our session each player has developed an enjoyment of the game and learned the basics of teamwork and fun.
The program is "fluid" enough to challenge intermediate players to grow in ability and love of the game.

Soccer is Fun is an exciting, fun way to learn soccer. Our primary goal is to teach basic fundamentals and teamwork, passing, dribbling etc.
Our program uses age appropiate games to introduce basic skills. The player learns the skill and joy of the game the old fashioned way... by HAVING FUN.
The pace of the program is quick and attention keeping. We organize games in a way so that players stay focused and motivated by not standing in line waiting their turn to practice the drill. We gently encourage each player to particpate and make it engaging and lot's of fun.
Our Program:
Creates more touches;
Does not allow players to "hide" or be excluded from the activity;
Presents realistic but simple soccer challenges;
Requires players to make simple but realistic soccer decisions.
Realistic Experience + Fun = Improvement In Play.
Soccer is Fun is an instructional program and is ideal for inexperienced and beginning players

We still need Head and Assistant Coaches in each division. See FAQ page for details on discounts etc. for coaching.
Is your player "chompin at the bit" to play tackle football but you're not ready to sign your life away to the endless practices and high potential for injury in standard tackle football?
Like Arena Football on grass, with modified rules for safety, and a game designed primarily for a high octane passing attack and 6 less players on the field.
Note these program changes:
The primary focus of our program is education and recreation. Players will be grouped together by weight, age , experience and ability in that descending order.
Divisions will be formatted with more of an educational and developmental focus. Players in each division will learn, compete and play together as a division in a lower key, fun environment with quality parent volunteer and league staff coaches.
Our Ultimate Tackle Football program combines the speed, fun and explosiveness of NFL Flag Football with the toughness and some of the intensity of standard tackle programs.
It is a FULL PADS CONTACT TACKLE FOOTBALL PROGRAM.
Our 50 yard field, 2/1st down zones, 8 player per side field makes this style of play unique and fun to play and watch.
Yes, our program fields 8 players per side as opposed to the standard 11 player field in other programs. This opens the field for more offensive production and less players on the field means a more finesse style passing game and less middle of the field crowding which decreases the injury factor.
It is a style of play that challenges players to succeed by virtue of skill more than brute strength.
What level of ability and experience do our players come from?
Most of our players have either never played tackle football previously or are returning players with little experience. A smaller percentage of players have some experience and have either been cut from a team but still want to play, have "aged out" of other programs, are in the off season from their regular teams or simply want to play football without the intensity and commitment level required of standard civic or high school programs. Whatever the background, our players always find a great place and fun environment to play, learn and enjoy the great game of football.
TEAM MATE REQUESTS ARE WELCOMED AS LONG AS PLAYERS ARE IN SAME WEIGHT/AGE DIVISION.
This program is designed with these goals in mind in order of importance:
1)RECREATION
2)EDUCATION
3)SOCIALIZATION
4)COMPETITION
We will keep score in this program. We will not keep standings or placement rankings.
Pre season Practice begins on February 26th at Woodside Elementary in Concord 761 San Simeon Drive. This is a league wide intro session covering basic format and skills.
Note: There are no mid week practices.
Note: If you have purchased a voucher form an online offer, please download the mail in registration form and maiil in with your voucher in order to register.
